College Basketball Recruit Arrested for Eating Pot After Traffic Stop

A Florida State basketball recruit was arrested on Thursday after he allegedly ate his marijuana to conceal it from police after a traffic stop.

According to the Marianna Police Department, power forward Cinmeon Bowers, who committed to Florida State in September, and two of his teammates were pulled over in Marianna, FL for speeding when “officers smelled marijuana coming from the car.”

Bowers and his teammates “ate the marijuana in an attempt to conceal it from the officers,” and were “charged with tampering with evidence and taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility,” according to the police report.

The players have been suspended indefinitely from the junior college and Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton said he would allow the situation to play regarding Bowers, who is considered one of the top junior college prospects in the nation.
