If Peyton Manning has to retire after this season, he may have a bright future in Hollywood.
Actor Jeremy Piven told TMZ that Hollywood executives and directors think Manning is the best professional athlete to work with in making commercials.
“He’s a very funny man,” Piven said. “When pro athletes do commercials, directors say ‘Is he a Peyton Manning?'”
Piven added that Manning is “ridiculously funny” and a “ridiculously talented dude” who can “think on his feet” and has “great timing,” which are qualities that directors look for in pro athletes.
Manning is contractually obligated to take an offseason physical and he will reportedly consider retirement if those tests indicate that his surgically repaired neck may be put at risk with more football. Manning spent a year away from the game getting his neck–and nerves–repaired before signing with the Broncos two years ago. At one point, Manning could barely throw a football while he was recovering from surgery and nerve damage.
