U.S. Skier Heidi Kloser Tears ACL, Asks 'Am I Still an Olympian?'

United States skier Heidi Kloser had to pull out of the Olympics after tearing her ACL in a Thusday warm-up crash. The 21-year-old Olympian was devastated by the injury, which included a partially torn MCL, a bruised tibial plateau, and a small leg fracture.

Kloser asked her family while in an ambulance, “Am I still an Olympian?”

Her father, Mike Kloser, said, “We said, ‘Of course you are.'”

Regardless of whether Kloser is able to return to competition, she “plans to walk in the opening ceremonies,” her father said.
