Sarah Palin Birthday Wish: Help Husband's Iron Dog Team Fight Breast Cancer

Last year Sarah Palin spent her birthday at a memorial ceremony honoring the late Chris Kyle. Tuesday, when the former Alaska governor turned 50, she had more of a traditional celebration, but she still demonstrated selflessness. Palin had the welfare of others in mind. She posted on Facebook:

“Got a homemade chocolate cake and apple pie from my sisters for my birthday, so I’m all set! I’ve been telling everyone that a most appreciated gift is to participate in and pledge to this great cause: Todd’s Iron Dog team’s breast cancer awareness “Bring Home the Pink” campaign to help women!”

Now that’s refreshing.

Todd Palin, a four-time champion and Tyler Huntington, who has won the event twice, will race as Team 11 in the Iron Dog later this month. Their Ski-Doo snowmachines will be accented in pink to raise awareness and money for the fight against breast cancer.

No word on if Michelle Obama or Mike Bloomberg weighed in on Palin’s chocolate cake or apple pie.
