Sochi 2014: American Jeremy Abbott Crashes, Gets Up and Dominates

This is America.

Ice skater Jeremy Abbott fell hard on his first jump. He was next to the boards and grabbed his side. Instead of quitting, he got up and continued. Despite the pain, Abbott executed the rest of his program flawlessly.

It paid off. He received a 72.58 score, which puts him at first in the qualifying round for the men’s ice skating short program.
