NHL Game Postponed After Dallas Player Collapses on Bench

On Monday, an NHL hockey game between the Dallas Stars and the Columbus Blue Jackets was postponed after Dallas Stars forward Rich Peverley collapsed on the bench.

Peverley, who reportedly missed games earlier this season with an irregular heartbeat, collapsed in Dallas with 13:37 remaining in the first period with the Blue Jackets leading 1-0.

“He’s been monitoring it the whole year and this might have been the first or second time it’s come around,” Stars coach Lindy Ruff said last week, according to The Dallas Morning News. “But it’s something he has to deal with and it’s something that obviously we’re aware of.”

According to reports, the “PA announcer informed the crowd that Peverley was taken to the hospital and that he is conscious.” The Stars also Tweeted that Peverley was conscious.
