Nick Saban: Peyton Manning Visit Didn't Break NFL Rules

Alabama head coach Nick Saban told reporters this week that Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning and offensive coordinator Adam Gase visited the team in practice in what could have been a violation of NFL rules.

The Denver Broncos start their voluntary offseason workouts on Monday, and players and coaches can’t meet to discuss football before then.

No worries, though. Saban said Manning and Gase did not arrive to Tuscaloosa together and insisted that the three never sat down together.

“I never said we sat down together,” Saban told the Denver Post on Friday. “I never met with Adam… When I talked with him I talked about his family. Peyton, we talked an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon. Adam had been talking to our assistant coaches. I never talked with Adam about football.”

Saban said Alabama learned a few things about the no-huddle offense from Manning while Manning was trying to hone his skills as well.

Alabama had their annual A-Day Spring Game on Saturday and the NFL will reportedly still investigate the visit.
