Vice President Joe Biden botched the name of the women’s basketball coach at the University of South Carolina during his commencement speech to the school on Friday.
Biden spoke about an aide of his who was a former football player at the school and even referenced top-pick Jedeveon Clowney. And then he promptly referred to legendary women’s basketball player, Hall of famer and olympian Dawn Staley as “Dawn Stanley.”
Staley, a star on the UVA women’s team that came up short in Final Fours against Stanford, is now a star coach at the University of South Carolina. Biden claimed that he has followed Staley’s career since her high school days in the Philadelphia area.
Another day, another Biden gaffe.
