Divine Intervention? Kevin Durant Receives Triple Jewish Blessing Before Beating the Clippers

Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant received a triple Jewish blessing before he stepped onto the court to face the Los Angeles Clippers on May 15. Durant proceeded to have a monster game as the Thunder beat the Clippers in Game 6 to finish off the series.

TMZ Sports reported that the Thunder were practicing at the Jewish Education Movement Community Center in Los Angeles before Thursday’s game when a trio of Rabbis decided to give Durant their blessing. Durant scored 39 points and pulled down 16 rebounds in last night’s game.

“MVP Kevin Durant and his team received a triple rabbi blessing from the founder of JEM, Rabbi Hertzel Illulian, Rabbi Yossi, and Rabbi Benjamin Illulian,” a JEM Center spokesman revealed on Thursday.

The game wasn’t a cakewalk, though, with a surly crowd filling the stands. The crowd was so surly, in fact, that some fans threw water bottles on the court causing the announcer to take to the public address system to plead with fans to stop throwing things on the court.

But Durant and the Thunder went on to best the Clippers 104-98 to take the series 4-2. Oklahoma City will face the San Antonio Spurs to decide the Western Conference’s representative in the NBA Finals. Game 1’s tip off takes place shortly after 9 p.m. Eastern on Monday.
