Miguel Olivo Goes Mike Tyson, Bites Part of Teammate's Ear Off During Minor League Game

On Tuesday, Dodgers minor league catcher Miguel Olivo took a bite out of his teammate Alex Guerrero’s (#7) ear as they fought in the dugout during the 8th inning of a game in Salt Lake City.

Olivo, who has played 13 seasons in the Major Leagues and is now a catcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers’s Minor League affiliate, and Guerrero, who signed a four-year contract for $28 million after defecting from Cuba and is a top Dodgers prospect, initially got into an altercation during a pitching change, as can be seen below, as the Albuquerque Isotopes (Dodgers’ AAA team) played the Salt Lake Bees (Angels’ AAA team). Things took a turn for the worse once the two reached the dugout.

Guerrero’s agent, Scott Boras, said on Tuesday that part of Guerrero’s ear was “displaced” by the bite, and he is having plastic surgery as police are gathering evidence.

Sting’EmBees, a blog site for the Bees, published photos of the fight in the dugout. In one photo, Guerrero holds a towel to his ear after Olivo bit him.
