The Los Angeles Kings may have escaped the Western Conference finals by the slimmest of margins–winning a seventh game in overtime. They enter the Stanley Cup finals a strong favorite.
Vegas pegs the New York Rangers as a 3-2 underdog. Gamblers will have to wager $170 to win $100 on the Kings taking the seven-game series and $100 to win $150 for a Rangers’ victory.
In addition to enjoying home-ice advantage and coming off a triumph over the defending champion Blackhawks, the Kings played as a better team than the Rangers over the course of the regular season. In the Eastern Conference finals, New York defeated a Montreal team that had lost its star goalie to injury.
The Kings last captured the cup in 2012. The Rangers haven’t won the Stanley Cup in twenty years.
The teams face off Wednesday at 8 p.m. Eastern time on NBC.
