San Antonio Billboard Praises Tim Duncan, Mocks LeBron James

First Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, in a move that some regarded as ridiculing LeBron James, counted out the five NBA championships that San Antonio has won at the city’s celebration of the Finals victory. Now a billboard announces to city motorists that free-agent LeBron may be the king, but stay-put Tim has more bling.

As a result of San Antonio Spurs star Tim Duncan reupping for his eighteenth year with the team and Miami Heat star Lebron James opting out of his contract, a San Antonio billboard now features two huge pictures, one of Duncan’s face being the “O” in the word “Loyalty” and one of James’ face being the “O” in the word “Royalty.” Between the pair stands a greater-than symbol.

The picture of the two stars flashes roughly once a minute on the billboard overlooking U.S. Route 281. Ryan Frazier with Clear Channel Outdoors said the decision to put up the sign was made after the two stars made their respective decisions.

Duncan’s Spurs defeated James’s Heat in five games in the NBA Finals this year after falling to their Eastern Conference rivals in the championship series in 2013.
