The Great One has spoken.
FOX411 reports that Wayne Gretzky has attempted to lecture his daughter’s suitor on getting stable and sober. Dustin Johnson, the PGA golfer engaged to Paulina Gretzky, recently announced a leave of absence from the tour that Golf.com characterizes as a suspension stemming from a positive cocaine test. Claims also surfaced that Johnson had bedded the wives of at least two PGA golfers.
“Sources tell FOX411 that the hockey great previously talked to Johnson–who is engaged to his 25-year-old model daughter, Paulina–cautioning him to clean up his act, or the wedding was off,” reports Hollie McKay. “We’re told that the family was aware of his penchant for partying, and that Wayne sought to be a positive influence, and offer help.”
Rehab might be one such positive influence. But Johnson isn’t there. Instead, in his hiatus from golfing, he has taken a much-needed break in Idaho with Paulina by–guess what?–golfing at an exclusive resort country club.
Wayne Gretzky hosted his first hockey school in the same obscure location near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, so it’s unclear if the concerned dad also counseled his wannabe son-in-law to spend his time away from golf on a golf course.
