Michael Brown Supporters Stage Protest on Monday Night Football

Fans staged a protest over the death of Michael Brown during Monday night’s game between the St. Louis Rams and San Francisco 49ers at the Edward Jones Dome.

In the third quarter, as the the 49ers marched toward a go-ahead touchdown, protesters unfurled banners that together read: “Rams fans know on and off the field black lives matter.” The banners hung in the stands above the jumbo video board in the north end zone.

The protesters weren’t done; just minutes later, roughly 35 protesters marched, hands above their heads, below the upper deck in the south end zone. Five police officers trailed them.

The Monday Night Football protests follow one held at Busch Stadium during the National League Divisional Series between the Cardinals and Dodgers last week.

Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson shot and killed Michael Brown in August after an altercation.
