Madison Bumgarner Takes Beer Bath

Madison Bumgarner Takes Beer Bath

What do you do for an encore after winning the NLCS MVP award? Dump six Budweisers on your face and down your throat, of course.

San Francisco Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner, after pouring four beers on himself after the Giants won the wild-card game over the Pirates and five upon the team’s NLDS victory over the Dodgers, attempted to drink six beers after last night’s triumph over the Cardinals. Sense a numeric progression?

The Giants, in search of their third championship in five seasons, take on the Kansas City Royals in the World Series. Game One starts Tuesday night in Kansas City.

Bumgarner boasts a 2-1 record with a 1.42 ERA this postseason. Should the Giants call on the winner of the NLDS’s deciding contest in Game One of the World Series, Bumgarner will pitch on normal rest.
