Best Tip Ever: Ticket to World Series

Best Tip Ever: Ticket to World Series

A waiter at a Kansas City restaurant got a far better tip than “Don’t play the horses”: a ticket to Game 1 of the World Series.

The waiter at “Rock & Brews,” who received the gift only hours before the game from the wife of Royals pitcher Wade Davis, was stunned by the gift. KMBC reported that the waiter’s co-worker, Justin Olmstead, gave the story this way:

He was pretty blown away, a little bit shocked. He came back into the office and said, “Do you guys mind if I have the night off?” And we looked at him, and he showed us the ticket he had in his hand. And we were blown away ourselves that he was able to have that given to him tonight. So we definitely accommodated him and let him have the night off to go celebrate with all the fans at the game tonight.

Tickets for the game were selling for more than $500 online.

Olmstead made his own estimate of the value of the gift. He said simply, “Best tip ever.”
