Ducks Open as Favorites over Buckeyes

The Oregon Ducks opened as a seven-point favorite over the Ohio State Buckeyes in the national championship game.

Early money on Oregon pushed the Ducks to 7.5-point favorites in several sports books. The total opened at 70.5 but similarly pushed upward. The totals for both playoff games exceeded the opening over-under.

The Vegas Insider odds pay $230 for a $100 bet on Ohio State. A $270 bet on Oregon to payout $100.

The Ducks rolled defending national champion Florida State Seminoles 59-20 in the Rose Bowl. Ohio State arrives in Arlington, Texas, on the road less traveled. Whereas Oregon boasts the Heisman Trophy-winner lining up behind the center, Ohio State plays for the national championship behind third-string quarterback Cardale Jones.

The teams play at 8:30 p.m. Eastern on January 12 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas for the national championship.
