Larry Donnell caught six touchdown passes for the New York Giants this season. He caught a Giant break in New York this morning.
The tight end emerged unscathed from a plane that skidded off the runway at LaGuardia Airport on Thursday.
“I’m blessed to be safe and sound after our plane skidded off the runway at LaGuardia airport today,” the third year player noted in a statement released by his team. “I feel fine physically and hopefully all the other passengers did not have any significant injuries. We were all shocked and alarmed when the plane started to skid, but most importantly, as far as I know, all of the passengers and flight crew were able to exit the plane safely.”
Six passengers endured non-life-threatening injuries. The plane ascended a barrier hill, crashed through a fence, and nearly plunged into Flushing Bay after touching down.
After his six touchdowns, and 63 receptions, Donnell traveled to New York to renew his contract with the Giants.
In case anyone doubted, the Grambling State product’s Instagram account, now buttressed by today’s near miss, informs: “Blessed and highly favored.”
