Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) took to Twitter after Duke’s 68-63 victory in Monday’s NCAA Championship Game to voice her complaint with how the NCAA system works.
McCaskill stated that she prefers players coming to college as a student and athlete, rather than players using their one-minimum year in college to improve their draft stock, which she clarified is not the fault of the players but the fault of the NCAA and NBA. NBA rules prevent talented high school players from declaring for the draft. But the NCAA currently does not pay the players in addition to the full scholarship they are provided.
Congrats to Duke, but I was rooting for team who had stars that are actually going to college & not just doing semester tryout for NBA.

I see I have stirred things up. Sorry, but I’m sad about the one & done thing.I understand why it’s happening, but I don’t have to like it.

To be clear folks, this isn’t about the kids, this is about the system. This is about the NCAA/NBA.I don’t blame the very talented athletes.
