Kid on His Phone at Braves Game Saved From Being Hit in Face by Flying Bat

A young fan at the Pittsburgh Pirates versus Atlanta Braves spring training game came within mere inches of having a severe head injury this weekend.

Saturday, the young fan was on his phone when a baseball bat was sent flying into the stands after the batter lost his grip.

Fortunately for the kid, the man next to him reached out and blocked the bat from hitting him in the face; captured by photo journalist Christopher Horner of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

The Pirates defeated the Braves 9-6.
