When Kris Jenkins beat the buzzer to beat North Carolina, he not only provided Villanova with one of the most unforgettable moments in college basketball history, he gave students at the suburban Philadelphia school a day off.

“Due to last night’s historic win,” the school’s website, adorned with pictures of students celebrating said victory, informs, “Villanova University and Villanova Law are closed and all day and evening classes are canceled today, April 5, 2016. The University Bookstore is open today from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.”

The school’s students made the decision for the administrators. Do any of these young people look interested in the fine details of the Gadsden Purchase, the meaning of Queequeg’s coffin, or the definition of Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle?

Last night’s party continues into tonight. The school holds a “welcome back” rally for the national champions at Villanova Stadium at 5 p.m.
