If a miraculous performance which elevates Tim Tebow to the big leagues is going to happen, it’ll have to happen this week. No pressure, though.

Tim Tebow will play make his grapefruit league debut with the Mets this week, according to MLB.com. This means that Tebow will be brought out from the Mets minor league camp and added to the big league camp, at least for Wednesday and Friday.

With the Mets sending fourteen players to teams competing in the World Baseball Classic, they are shorthanded in the big league camp and need extra players for their split-squad games against the Red Sox on Wednesday, and the Astros on Friday.

According to Sporting News, “As luck would have it, the Mets-Red Sox game already was scheduled to be broadcast by the Mets’ SNY network and picked up nationally by MLB Network. Tune in at 1 p.m. ET and at some point in the game you’ll get a chance to see for yourself how well the former Heisman Trophy winner’s transition to baseball is going.”

Indeed.
