Robert Kraft Tells Giants Owner That Patriots Would Have Lost If New York Had Made It to the Super Bowl

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft (L) and Tom Brady of the New England Patriots cele

Patriots Owner Robert Kraft is a man who has a hard time letting go of past disappointments. That much seems obvious after Giants Co-owner Steve Tisch revealed what Kraft told him soon after the Patriots won Super Bowl LI.

On Monday, Tisch said that Kraft told him, after the Patriots knocked off the Falcons, that he felt the outcome might have been different had the Patriots played the Giants.

Tisch said, “Would I like to have gone deeper in the playoffs? Of course. Would I have liked to end up Houston? Absolutely. Especially because Bob Kraft, after the Super Bowl, told me ‘You would’ve beat us.’ So that was a nice compliment.”

There’s every likelihood that Kraft only said that to say something nice to a fellow owner. Specifically, by referencing the Giants victories over the Patriots in Super Bowl’s XLII and XLVI. Color me skeptical about the Giants chances of beating Brady a third time. Eli Manning isn’t the QB he was five years ago, and Tom Coughlin isn’t walking back in that door.

Still, beating Eli Manning in a Super Bowl is pretty much the only thing Tom Brady hasn’t done. Maybe he’ll get the chance to do it.
