Rapper Master P scolded basketball father LaVar Ball for acting ungrateful for President Donald Trump’s help in getting theft charges dropped against his son LiAngelo Ball, with the younger Ball returning home from China earlier this month without having to serve a ten-year prison sentence for the crime.

The rap artist recently told TMZ Sports that the elder Ball should drop the obstreperousness and just thank Trump for his efforts to get Chinese President Xi Jinping to intercede on the three players’ behalf.

“I just think it’s a blessing to have your kids back at home, man,” the rapper told TMZ. “You gotta just be humble.”

“That’s just him, he always talk wild,” the rapper added of LaVar Ball’s personality.

But, LaVar Ball has appeared on TV numerous times to exclaim that he has nothing to thank the president for in getting his son returned home from the Chinese legal system after LiAngelo Ball and two other UCLA players were arrested and accused of shoplifting in several high-end stores in a shopping mall in Shanghai, China.

UCLA was in Shanghai to face Georgia Tech in their season opener on November 10 where they beat the Georgians 63-60.

Master P added that Ball is not being very smart with his public stance on the issue.

“Just be thankful that your kids are safe, they are not in prison, and do the right thing,” he added. “He had something to do with your kid getting home, so right is right and wrong is wrong.”

The rapper concluded by saying that Ball should specifically thank Trump for his effort. “That’s what it should be,” he said. “Give respect where it’s at.”
