Chris Long did not visit the White House last year, after he and the Patriots won Super Bowl LI. On Monday, Long made it clear that he won’t go this year either if he and his fellow Eagles win Super Bowl LII.

During an appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast, Long was asked if he would make the White House trip if the Eagles defeated the Patriots on Sunday. Long’s answer left little doubt.

“No, I’m not going to the White House. Are you kidding me?”

Long wasn’t the only Patriots player to skip the White House visit last year. In total, only 34 Patriots stood with the president on the White House steps. Long, most notably, stood beside fellow Eagle and anthem protester Malcolm Jenkins to lend his support. Presumably, given that several Eagles players took part in the anthem protests which swept across the league this year, Long won’t be alone in abstaining from the White House trip.

That is of course, if the Eagles beat the Patriots.
