The Alabama Crimson Tide visited the White House on Tuesday to celebrate their national championship and, during the visit, the team prayed with President Donald Trump.

Reporting on the event, WBRC News reporter Christina Chambers tweeted the inspiring moment saying, “What a cool moment! .@AlabamaFTBL JK Scott asked @POTUS if he could pray for him and his staff. Video below shows President Trump and Bama players praying after the Tide’s @WhiteHouse visit!”

The president added his tweet after the visit saying it was his “great honor” to host the team:

Alabama head coach Nick Saban was thoroughly excited to visit the White House.

“You know, not many people get invited to the White House, so not many people get invited to see the president and meet the president. So this is a special day for our team. A team that is being honored here because of their achievements in terms of winning the college football national championship, which makes me very proud,” said six-time championship winner Saban, according to the Washington Examiner.

“A special thanks to our president to invite us here and make this a special day for us. President Trump, thank you so much,” Saban added.

Indeed, Saban warned players ahead of the visit that he would not tolerate any protests or disruptions from his players.

For his part, the president happily noted that the team was in Washington because of their “grit, drive, dedication” and their “incredible teamwork.”

“You all worked together, inspired each other, had each other’s backs, and drove yourselves onward to one of the greatest victories ever,” Trump said. “You carry on a storied tradition of Alabama football excellence. It really is excellence. Coach, you’ll have to explain that. You could sell that secret, make a lot of money. You know that. You could only sell it.”
