If boxing were a sport where one advanced by mouth alone, Adrien Broner would have eclipsed his mentor Floyd Mayweather Jr. long ago.
However, because it’s not that way, and Broner’s fighting has never quite matched his trash talk, the Cincinnati welterweight has never quite reached his potential.
Broner stayed true to form on Saturday night.
After his fight with Jessie Vargas was ruled a draw, a decision which in no way pleased him, Broner tried to win the post-fight by snatching Jim Gray’s mic, dropping Martin Luther King references, and insulting Mexicans.
