EU expects 'temporary' Ukraine deal to be signed today: diplomat

The European Union expects a “temporary” deal to be signed Friday between Ukraine’s embattled President Viktor Yanukovych and the opposition aimed at ending the country’s bloodiest crisis since independence, a senior EU diplomat said.

“We expect a temporary agreement to be signed today,” the diplomat said, adding that the pact would provide for some constitutional reforms and early presidential and parliamentary elections at a date yet to be set.
