Five S.African miners shot by guards near Amplats

At least five South African mine workers were shot by guards outside an AngloAmerican Platinum mine in apparent union clashes in the northwest platinum belt of Rustenburg, a local TV channel said.

The eNews Channel Africa (eNCA) said the condition of the five was not immediately known. Amplats spokeswoman Mpumi Sithole told AFP the company was "currently gathering the details."
