AIG refuses to join lawsuit against US government

The board of AIG will not join a private lawsuit against the US government led by former AIG chief executive Maurice "Hank" Greenberg, the government bailed-out insurer said Wednesday.

The AIG statement said the board determined that a decision not to join the lawsuit met its "fiduciary and legal obligations" to AIG and its shareholders.
