No reason to intervene in Portugal's crisis-hit bank BES: PM

Portuguese Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho on Friday ruled out state aid for the country’s biggest bank BES, which has seen its shares plummet over fears of its financial health.

“There is no reason for the state to intervene in a bank which has solid capital and which has a comfortable margin to deal with any eventuality, even the most adverse,” he told reporters.
