Commonalities between functions of Justice and Interior Ministries discussed

SANA’A, Feb.18 (Saba)- Minister of Justice Judge Murshid al-Arashani met on Monday, in presence of Interior Minister Abdul Qader Qahtan, the European-Jordanian assistant team in restructuring of Interior Ministry.
In the meeting, they discussed and reviewed the commonalities between the functions of Justice and Interior Ministries in achieving the justice and security, which are the foundation pillars for building a state of law and order.
The meeting touched on the steps that have been accomplished in restructuring the Interior Ministry, which will have positive effects in the work of the judicial authority.
At the meeting, Judge al-Arashani expressed his hope that the friends in the European Union and the brothers in Jordan will pay attention to the judicial authority, as the judiciary is about to carry out wide legal and structural reforms.
He pointed to the practical steps that have been taken organizationally and legally in order to achieve the principle of the judiciary independence.
For his part, the Interior Minister confirmed the importance of partnership and coordination between the Ministries of Interior and Justice in consolidating the principles of justice and the maintenance of security and stability.
He noted to the benefit obtained by the Interior Ministry from the European and Jordan team in the Interior Ministry restructuring process.
The European delegation pointed that Yemen has an exceptional opportunity to lead a parallel reform process in the judicial and security bodies.
The delegation confirmed its keenness to support Yemen and to provide expertise in all directions so as to enable it to cross towards the desired goals in achieving security and stability.
