Venezuela announces seven days mourning on Chavez death

WAM Caracas, Mar 6th, 2013 (WAM) --Venezuela's government has announced a seven days national mourning on the death of President Hugo Chavez.

Foreign Minister Elias Jaua said that Chavez's body will be moved to Caracas military academy until Friday for state funeral.

Vice-President Nicolas Maduro will assume the presidency until an election is held within 30 days, he added.

The 58-year-old leader had undergone four operations in Cuba for a cancer that was first detected in his pelvic region in mid-2011. He vanished from public view after December 11 surgery that resulted in complications and respiratory infections.
