WAM ABU DHABI: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, on Tuesday received British Minister of State for Universities and Science, David Willetts, British Council's Chief Executive, Martin Davidson, the vice-chancellor of Britain's Open University, Martin Bean and the Chief Executive of Cambridge English Language Assessment of the University of Cambridge, Michael Milanovic.
The meeting discussed the Going Global an annual conference which was hosted by the British Council between 5-6 March in Dubai, to offer an open forum for global leaders of international education to discuss issues facing the international education community.
Sheikh Nahyan emphasised that scientific advancement is based on cooperation, solidarity and openness.
The prosperity of the UAE is attributed to the wise leadership's policy which provides stable, tolerant and open environment.
Each year, the Going Global conference attracts over 1,000 delegates from across the tertiary (further and higher) education sectors and a variety of other industries with perspectives on international education.
