Eight new radars to be installed at Al Ittihad Road in Al Ain on Sunday

WAM Abu Dhabi, Apr 27th, 2013 (WAM)--The Department of Traffic and Patrols at Abu Dhabi Police is set to install eight new radars at Al Ittihad Ring Road in Al Ain City on Sunday.

The move is part of the comprehensive traffic safety plan to install 57 new radars at the internal roads and highways in Al Ain. The radar detection speed at Al Ittihad road has been specified at 141km/h. This will help curb the traffic accidents that lead to deaths and serious injuries.

Col. Khalifa Mohammed Al Khaili, director of the traffic and roads safety section at the department said the new radars will be installed in accordance with the traffic accidents and violations' indicators to help reduce excessive speeds.
