HR Ministry calls for stopping human right violations in Dammaj

SANA'A, Oct. 20 (Saba) - The Human Rights Ministry on Sunday called for immediately stopping human right violations in Dammaj area.

In a statement issued today, the Ministry urged parties to the conflict in Dammaj area to resort to reason and not to arms to resolve differences in the area.

"The Ministry of Human Rights is watching with great concerns and deep regret the news about the unfortunate events taken place in Dammaj, which claim the lives of the sons of one nation."

It wondered that such violence and fighting are taken place within Yemenis' consensus to address the country's problems via National Dialogue Conference (NDC). These conflicting parties in Sa'ada are represented in the NDC, however on the ground, they resort to violence and arms.

The Ministry stressed that the outcomes of the National Dialogue, which is about to conclude, would include solutions to the differences and complex problems.

It condemned resolving disputes by using weapons, which leaves only devastation and killing innocent people, underlining that such acts serve only enemies of peace and security and undermine the reconstruction efforts.

The Ministry called on the political leadership, local authority, human rights and social activists, political parties and the sponsors of the Gulf initiative to help end the continued bloodshed and solve the issue in a way that ensure not to be recurred.
