Nahyan bin Zayed attends opening of Jiu-Jitsu championship


WAM ABU DHABI, April 17th 2014 (WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Sports Council today attended the opening of the sixth edition of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship.




The 2014 Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship is being organised at Zayed Sports City under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces.




Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah, President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), Mohammed Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Abdul Mumen Al Hashimi, Chairman of the Board of Jiu-Jitsu Federation, and others.




The best Jiu-Jitsu fighters from 71 countries around the world are in U.A.E. capital ahead of the showpiece Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2014 ‘&’ World Jiu-Jitsu Children’s Cup, which will run between 15th – 19th April 2014.




This year’s competition promises to be the best yet as the strongest line-up of Jiu-Jitsu fighters ever assembled prepare to battle for the prestigious title of ï؟ ½World Champion’ and a generous cash prize.
