Army chief opens medical center east of Amman


Amman, Sept. 17 (Petra) — The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Lt. General, Mishal Mohammed Zabin, on Wednesday opened a military medical center in Madaba, east of Amman.




Zabin toured the new facility and surveyed the services being provided for local citizens.




Attending the inauguration, Director General of the Royal Medical Services, Major General Khalaf Al Sarhan said that this is the eighth center launched by the armed forces across the Kingdom to provide healthcare services for citizens near their place of residence.




The center, he added, would be later upgraded to a hospital, while noting that the initiative was part of the Armed Forces’ future plans.




The center, which provides treatment for 3,000 citizens every, month comprises a number of sections, such as an ER, laboratory, X Ray and a pharmacy section.
