'Different and unqiue' RSVP cards go viral Share This: UPI 7/25/2013 7:13:48 PM CHICAGO, July 25 (UPI) -- An Illinois couple say they just wanted to be "different and unique," so they were surprised when their comical wedding invitation RSVP card went viral. Katie Kerr, 28, of Aurora and Chris Sabino, 29, of Wheaton are to be married Sept. 21. When they sent out invitations, they decided to have fun with the RSVP card because, as Kerr told the Chicago Tribune: "We're both pretty goofy people and enjoy making our friends laugh. We knew certain friends and family would get a kick out of it." The RSVP card offered guests planning to attend options that read: "Two words: Free. Booze" and "I'm in your wedding party, idiot. Wait, is this optional?" People who could not attend could check reasons for declining including, "I'll be watching the Cubs win the World Series." However, that phrase was scratched out and accompanied by the note, "Edit: these options are meant to be circumstances that could actually happen." After Kerr posted the RSVP card on Reddit, users of the social media site started giving it lots of upvotes -- the rough equivalent of "Likes" on Facebook" -- and the RSVP card's popularity took off on other social media. Kerr said she works in social media but none of her previous posts had caught on the way this one did, the newspaper reported. "We were just trying to make it different and unique," she said. "This is crazy." Kerr said the item will be "a little fun for our wedding scrapbook."
