Beached humpback whale gets rescued after two days

BRISBANE, Australia, July 10 (UPI) —

A baby humpback whale was rescued and freed into the ocean after it was beached for two days.

The whale weighed somewhere between 16 and 22 tons. Rescuers made five attempts before they could launch the whale off of Palm Beach, south of Brisbane Tuesday.

They used a special harness to pull the whale out to sea to the cheers of rescuers.
