NEW YORK, Aug. 20 (UPI) —
Emmy Award-winning actor Tony Shalhoub has joined the Season 7 cast of the comedy Nurse Jackie, Showtime announced Wednesday.
The cable network said he will play Dr. Bernard Prince, a new emergency room doctor who "has a great bedside manner, a special touch with his boss, Gloria Akalitus — played by Anna Deavere Smith — and who offers Jackie something she desperately needs — a friend."
Edie Falco plays the title character.
Shalhoub is best known for his work in the TV series Monk and Wings.
