The California Assembly’s Higher Education Committee unanimously approved a resolution (SCR-35) on Tuesday condemning antisemitism on California college campuses.

Community leaders and lawmakers will join Sacramento’s Jewish community on Monday afternoon on the State Capitol’s steps to rally against antisemitism in California. The rally coincides with a proposed law that would require all student government bodies in California to provide and take part in mandatory training in discrimination and civil rights.

A recent meeting at UCLA to nominate a Jewish sophomore to the student council’s Judicial Board, is the latest incident to shine a light on a culture of apparent antisemitism at UCLA. Staunch anti-Israel rhetoric has pervaded the University of California school system for sometime.
