Michael Bloomberg-funded Everytown for Gun Safety is fighting the repeal of a law that requires North Carolinians to acquire a permit to purchase a handgun before they can actually purchase one. They are doing this by equating the permit to purchase with background checks and suggesting that if the permits are repealed, background checks will be repealed as well.

Oregon Democrats Picked the Wrong Shooting to Justify Gun Control Push

On April 14, Oregon Senate Democrats passed expanded background checks based on a 2012 shooting at Clackamas Town Center in the Portland suburbs. The problem with this is that the Clackamas gunman stole his gun—so no amount of gun control would have stopped him—and his attack was stopped by a concealed carry permit holder who was armed in the mall.

Everytown Admits Gun Show Background Checks Don’t Work–but Want Them for More Sales

The Michael Bloomberg-funded Everytown for Gun Safety is actively pushing an expansion of background checks for every firearm sale in Oregon, be that sale retail or private. They present the checks as the same kind of background checks required at Oregon gun shows “since 2000,” even though they admit the background checks at gun shows didn’t really stamp out private sales.
