Embattled Texas Border School Board Sued For Retaliation

DONNA, Texas — A newly filled federal lawsuit against a Texas border school board provides even more insight into the actions that in have wreaked havoc in the small community. The lawsuit was filed in federal court by a number of high ranking employees and former employees of the Donna Independent School District (Donna ISD). They claim a series of politically motivated retaliations at the hands of Board President Alberto Sandoval and his two closest allies Tomasa Ramos and Nick Castillo.

A teacher, a coach, and a truancy officer from the Texas border school district of Donna have all been accused of having sex with students on and off campus over a long period of time. The teacher, who has been identified as the son-in-law of the school superintendent, is accused of having sex with a student in a classroom.

Democrat State Rep Denies Involvement in Scheme to Bribe Border Judge

Texas State Representative Terry Canales (D-Edinburg) is denying any wrongdoing after the former warden of a private prison on the Texas border was charged for his alleged role in bribing a convicted Texas border judge in order to get a bond lowered so that a Mexican drug smuggler could flee. Canales was the attorney who represented the smuggler in court, and could still face charges.

New Texas Border DA Vows to Crack Down on Public Corruption

The newly sworn in District Attorney (DA) for Hidalgo County said he will keep his pledge for a public corruption task force. Breitbart Texas has reported extensively about corruption in the South Texas border county. The issue came to a head earlier last year when Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino resigned, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years in prison for money laundering.
