Watchdog Groups Call for Protection of Jewish Students Following Swastika ‘Hate Crime’ at Stanford

Twenty-six anti-Semitism watchdog groups issued a joint letter to Stanford University President John Hennessy, lauding him for condemning the vandalism of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house which was defaced with swastikas this past weekend, and imploring him to take additional steps to protect Jewish students on campus; particularly with the rise of antisemitism throughout many college campuses in California and especially through the strengthening of BDS (boycott, divestment and sanctions) movements targeting Israel.

Worst Cities for Renters: Bay Area Sweeps 1, 2, 3 Spots

What are the worst three cities for renters in America? Surprise. Manhattan does not make the cut. According to Forbes, they are San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose–based on price-per-listing, market availability, median income and comparing the price of a mortgage versus that of renting.

San Diego Celebrates Illegal Immigration Opponent Cesar Chavez

California is one of a number of states, including Texas and Colorado, that mark the birthday of famed labor, civil rights and anti-illegal immigration activist Cesar Chavez as a state holiday. Sacramento Parents Alarmed by Tuberculosis Outbreak

Two Sacramento-area schools are preparing to test 200 children for tuberculosis (TB) next week after it was discovered that two kids tested positive for the infectious disease and may have exposed others. Several students have also been infected with whooping cough (pertussis) in Salinas.

LAPD Officer Caught Allegedly Smuggling Illegal Alien in Trunk

Ten-year Los Angeles Police Department veteran Carlos Quezada, Jr. allegedly drove an SUV with a female passenger riding shotgun as they attempted to pass through the Otay Mesa, California U.S.-Mexico border crossing Saturday night with a Mexican citizen in the trunk. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers used an x-ray like device to further inspect the vehicle, leading to their discovery of the Mexican citizen who had no legal right to enter the country.

Mr. Brown Goes to Washington, Bashes GOP on Immigration

California Governor Jerry Brown stood in symbolic and literal solidarity with Obama on the front lawn of the White House Friday as he slammed the GOP, even calling members un-Christian over opposition to the President’s executive actions that would give effective amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.
