As the months go by, we’ll learn more about the big players in the Dannemora drama. For example, Dateline NBC steps up with accomplice Joyce Mitchell’s side of the story. This was the first time that the public has heard directly from one of the three main characters in the drama (escaped convicts David Sweat, Richard Matt, or confessed accomplice Mitchell) without having the filter of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s political operation and the intertwined New York State bureaucracy imposed upon the information.

Lyle Mitchell arrived at King’s Wok Buffet in Malone, New York at 4:15 p.m. on June 5, 2015 with his wife Joyce Mitchell, the 51-year-old civilian employee of the Clinton Correctional Facility, who pled guilty last week to aiding the escape of convicted killers David Sweat and Richard Matt.

FBI Launches Investigation of Possible Corruption and Drug Trafficking at Clinton Correctional Facility

One source familiar with the investigation into the escape of the two convicts from Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York tells Breitbart News “they are investigating a drug trade inside the prison that is being operated by the prisoners and the correctional officers.” Another source familiar with the investigation tells Breitbart News the arrests of Joyce Mitchell and Gene Palmer are just “the tip of the iceberg.”

Cook, a 21-year law enforcement veteran, was on patrol by himself Sunday about 3 pm eastern about 5 miles north of the 22-square mile search area where as many as 1,000 fellow officers were looking for Sweat, when he spotted a man dressed in camouflage clothing jogging on Coveytown Road in the Town of Constable, just 2 miles north of the Village of Malone, New York.
