A former attorney of the alleged Texas cop-killer says that his client had been found mentally incompetent to stand trial in a 2012 assault case in Austin, Texas. The man who now stands accused of assassinating a Harris County sheriff’s deputy was later found competent to stand trial but the charges were dropped.
Following the shooting of a sheriff in Houston, Texas by a black man as well as chants from Black Lives Matter protesters advocating violence against police, GOP presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) issued a statement saying he is proud to stand with law enforcement.

Breitbart Texas has learned that Miles has an extensive history with law enforcement in Harris County. Miles is being charged with capital murder involving the killing of a police officer. His extensive criminal history includes trespassing, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, evading detention. It appears he had a state jail felony arrest for criminal mischief, but the charge was pleaded down to a misdemeanor charge.
