The Justice Department has launched a formal criminal investigation into the office and campaign expenses of resigning Illinois Rep. Aaron Schock, as well as his personal business dealings with political donors, a person familiar with the case told The Associated Press on Friday.

CNN reports that federal indictments on charges including “conspiracy to kill, and sending money and weapons to terrorists” have been handed down against a ring of six Bosnian immigrants arrested in St. Louis and Illinois in early February. More specifically, they stand accused of sending money and equipment to both ISIS and al-Qaeda.

Texas Cops Worried About Prevalence Of Online Predators Near Border

A joint operation between the FBI and several Texas police departments near the border has resulted in multiple arrests of suspected online predators, and authorities are concerned about the overwhelming response to their sting operation. Within four days, five men were arrested after responding to what they believed was an invitation from a 14-year-old girl to meet them for sex. Additional arrests are expected in the coming days.

Arizona Guardsman Finally Sentenced in 2002 Drug Trafficking and Bribery Case

Justice moved slowly for an Arizona Army National Guardsman who fled to Mexico to avoid prosecution after a 2002 drug trafficking and bribery case came to light. The former Arizona Army National Guard (AANG) sergeant was sentenced on February 20 to serve fifty-two months in prison for the scheme where he accepted bribes in exchange for using his military position to protect shipments of cocaine.

Somali in Texas Sentenced for Helping Terrorists

Abdinassir Mohamud Ibrahim, 43, was sentenced in a San Antonio federal court on Thursday to fifteen years in prison for conspiring to provide material support to Al-Shabaab, a designated foreign terrorist organization, and for making a false statement in an immigration matter.

Mystery Deepens in Death of US Contractor in Saudi Arabia

Moments before he reportedly died in his Saudi Arabian hotel under suspicious circumstances, American defense contractor Christopher Cramer texted, “I’m at the Marakim [sic] Tabuk Hotel in Saudi. I think something bad is going to happen to me tonight. Please contact state ddept [sic] ASAP. Bad things were said.”

On Tuesday, Southwest Airlines reported two threats against a flight that was traveling from San Francisco to Atlanta. As the threats continue to roll in, civilian airliners have demonstrated a noticeable change in their responses to the criminal acts.

Police Departments Quietly Equipped with Device That Lets Them See Through Walls

Modern police have radar guns that allow them to see through the walls of houses, and they’ve been using them for the past two years without telling the public. In fact, they still haven’t formally announced the technology. If no one has briefed him yet, I would like to volunteer to be the guy who tells Senator Rand Paul about the drone that can see through walls.

Report: FBI Thwarts ‘ISIS-Inspired’ Plot to Bomb U.S. Capitol

ABC News reports that the FBI has arrested 20-year-old Christopher Lee Cornell of Green Township, Ohio for planning what ABC describes as “an ISIS-inspired attack on the U.S. Capitol, where he hoped to set off a series of bombs aimed at lawmakers, whom he allegedly considered enemies.”
