Rubio in NH: 2016 Will be a Referendum on Our Identity as a Nation

America is “engaged in a global competition” for investment and talent, Marco Rubio says, and is being held back by regulations that are crushing innovation, an excessive corporate tax rate, businesses that are not growing because of Obamacare, and energy policies that are blocking us from using our natural resources.

First Poll Shows Rubio Surge After Announcement, Now Beating Bush in Florida

AUSTIN, Texas — Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) is surely smiling this morning after the first poll in Florida since he announced he is running for president showed that he had received a substantial bump in his numbers. Rubio’s surge was so substantial, in fact, that he is now one point ahead of former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-FL), as opposed to a 12-point deficit from a poll at the beginning of the month.

Ballot Integrity, the Rule Of Law, and Jeb Bush’s ‘Hispanic’ Check Box

The race/ethnicity section of the form was optional, and conveyed no benefit to the registrant – there was nothing for Bush to gain by deliberately misrepresenting himself as Hispanic, even if it could be proven that he did this intentionally. There wasn’t any political benefit to doing so, either, and there is no evidence that Bush ever sought to (absurdly) turn his “Hispanic” voter registration into a political asset, since the form lay dormant in the archives until surfacing this week.

Rep. Patrick Murphy Ran as Moderate, Now Launches Partisan Attacks as Senate Candidate

U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-FL) won his first election in 2012 by branding himself as a moderate, presenting himself as an alternative to tea party firebrand Allen West, who had been elected in the Tea Party wave of 2010. Now that he has set his sights on representing Florida in the Senate, his rhetoric has turned sharply partisan as he attempts outflank his likely primary opponent, Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL), on the left and spark interest from Democrats nationally who could fund his race.

Video: Americans for Prosperity Insulted by Florida Senator

A bit of drama unfolded at Thursday’s committee meeting in Tallahassee, Florida, over SB 1046, a bill which has to do with subsidizing the state’s film industry. Americans For Prosperity opposes the bill as written, because they believe the bill is nothing more than a boondoggle for the entertainment industry and not a good investment for the state of Florida.
