A plurality of younger voters in the United States are registering as independents, according to a Gallup report.

By a wide margin, the next generation of Americans is widely opposed to “cancel culture,” or politically correct censorship and ostracization, even more so than members of the Boomer and Gen X generations, leaving Millennials as the only generation more likely to view cancel culture positively or neutrally than negatively.

According to a Pew analysis of U.S. Census data, since 1980 Baby Boomers and their antecedents have cast the most votes in each presidential election. As the number of older voters decline and younger voters — supplemented by naturalizations of foreign-born adults — increase the electorate has experienced a shift toward Millennial and Generation voters.
